Pulla's Maid

Family0001

On February 4, 2015, we made our first rice donation to a family! I had just arrived in India two days earlier. My business partner, Coney Pulla, was staying with his parents in Delhi for the final days of their service mission there before returning home to Hyderabad. So, I planned to stay with them. It was my first time to India, and I thought it wouldn't be too hard to make it to their flat on my own. That is a whole other story!!! In India, it is common to have a maid clean your home a few days a week for about $1 USD. So, even low income families can afford to pay a maid. Generally, maids have barely enough income to survive. That was the case with the Pulla's maid. We decided giving rice to their maid was a great place to start!!! When we showed up with a huge bag of rice and another big bag of flour, they were shocked. They started crying. We all cried. In that moment, it was confirmed that we were on the right track.
